Australian Tax Calendar 2026–27
Key dates for the 2026–27 financial year, from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027, taken from ATO pages. When a due date falls on a weekend, the ATO moves it to the next business day, and the dates below show the adjusted day. If you use a registered tax agent or BAS agent, you may have later dates.
Dates for employees
- Wednesday 1 July 2026
- Payday Super starts. From 1 July 2026, employers must pay super so it reaches your fund within 7 business days after each payday, instead of quarterly. ATO
- Tuesday 28 July 2026
- Last quarterly super guarantee payment. Employers can pay super guarantee for the April–June 2026 quarter by 28 July, the last payment under the quarterly rules. ATO
- Monday 2 November 2026
- Lodge your 2025–26 tax return. If you lodge your own return, it is due by 31 October; in 2026 that is a Saturday, so the due date moves to Monday 2 November. To use a registered tax agent, engage them before 31 October. ATO
- Tuesday 1 June 2027
- HELP indexation. Study and training loan balances owing for more than 11 months are indexed on 1 June each year. ATO
- Wednesday 30 June 2027
- End of the 2026–27 financial year. Before-tax super contributions count towards the year in which your fund receives them, so make any extra contributions in time to arrive by 30 June. ATO
- Thursday 1 July 2027
- Next tax cut. The 15% rate on taxable income between $18,201 and $45,000 falls to 14% from 1 July 2027. ATO
Estimate your refund before you lodge with the tax return calculator, and check the year’s rates on the tax rates page.

- Monday 1 March 2027
- Quarterly BAS for October–December 2026. The quarter 2 BAS is due 28 February, which falls on a Sunday in 2027, so the due date is Monday 1 March. This due date already includes a one-month extension. ATO
